The CWILA Count was established to foster better, more equitable critical culture. In 2013, we are:
- Counting book reviews by gender in 25 Canadian literary outlets (up from 14).
- Collecting data on Canadian nationality, publishers, and genderqueer authors.
- Launching later this fall an analysis of systemic inequities in reviewing practices on the basis of race and sexuality.
We are planning to host a national conference on critical culture at UBC in the fall. We also hope to enrich our programming by connecting critics with under-recognized books published by small press publishers. Your support can make these things happen.
We offer two ways to make your donation – either online or by mail.
